SCALE-DEGREE TRAINING
Choose your musical world.
Practise any collection in all 12 keys. Each scale has its own four-level path.
Build or edit a custom scale
Keep Do as the tonic and choose 1–11 other notes. Your scale transposes with the key selector.
This browser remembers your latest custom scale. Progress follows the chosen notes; renaming keeps it.
Changing a setting ends the current round. Completed progress is kept.
Meet this scale
Movable Do: Do is always the selected tonic. Altered syllables and degree symbols show how notes differ from major.
Do feels like home.
First hear the chords establish a home note. Then follow the melody back to Do.
Choose a note to explore its relationship to home.
Listen for a feeling, not a distance.
Hum the final note to yourself. Does it feel settled, or does it want to move?
Switching starts a fresh round. Both styles share completed level progress.

CHORD TRAINING
Hear the colour of a chord.
Watch the circle establish the key through I–IV–V–I. Then identify the target chord by ear. The outer ring shows major keys; the inner ring shows their relative minors.
Harmonic tension · colour guide
Typical roles in a major key, not a fixed dissonance ranking. Context and voicing affect tension. Major/minor quality alone does not determine it.
Outlined = home key · Highlighted = sounding chord, coloured by harmonic role. Target stays hidden until you answer.
3 stars: perfect round · 2 stars: passed · 1 star: at least half correct · 0 stars: below half. Pass with at least 80% and every answer type correct once.
